Bangalow poultry club committee members celebrate in 2011

Committee Members of the Bangalow Poultry Club are more than pleased with the awards won at Poultry Shows in 2011. The Bangalow Club is well known for its friendliness and hospitality with all its members helping one another through their breeding season - and now they’re celebrating their wins together.

Hec & Dean McKenzie (father and son team), Robert Fowler & son Craig Fowler, Rachel Bullion & Aaron Van den Heuvel and the youngest member, Matthew Savins all had a great year at shows locally, at state and national levels. Members had big wins at The Leghorn Club of Australia Championships held at Wyong, The Leghorn Club of QLD held at Rosewood, The Ancona Club of QLD held at Rosewood, The Pekin Club of QLD at Rosewood and the EKKA at Brisbane.

All the hard work of breeding the champions has paid off for the club’s members.

Congratulations to Aaron Van den Heuvel who entered the judging contest at the EKKA show this year. Aaron who is currently studying at Armidale University has a huge future in his judging career. Life Member Hec McKenzie had the honour of judging the Large Leghorns at Sydney Royal Show this year, while the club’s Vice President, Robert Fowler was invited to travel to Tasmania to judge. Congratulations to these committee members.
