About the Poultry Club
Established in 1924, the Bangalow Poultry Club can boast to be one of the biggest and most successful friendly country shows attracting exhibitors from South East Queensland, west of the range around Stanthorpe and Tenterfield and the Northern Rivers of NSW. This year we're proud to be celebrating our 100th year.
The club currently has 56 financial members and 15 Committee members who are all dedicated to the poultry fancy.
Out of the 15 Committee Members, six of them are National Poultry Judges, they are Barry Simpkins, Hector McKenzie, Dean McKenzie, (father and son) Aaron Van Den Heuvel, Bob Fowler and Norm Black. Hector McKenzie has been showing and breeding fowls for 62 years and judging about 50 years, his son Dean was one of the youngest judges in the Nation being 16 ½ years when he judged his first show.
