Our Annual Auction
The Bangalow Poultry Club auction is held each year on the third Sunday in April.
Consignment forms will be available for download on this page up until April 1st and must be accompanied by payment (cash, cheque or direct deposit) at time of submission. Consignments will close 5:00pm April 1st and entries will not be accepted after this time.
The public is able to view the birds in the Poultry Pavilion after 8:30am with the auction commencing at 10:00am sharp.
The auction is held on the Bangalow Showground in the Moller Pavilion and the club’s resident auctioneer, Mr. Jim Hanley will run the auction. Unfortunately Jim was unable to attend the 2016 auction, which was run by Mr Ron Chittick and Matthew Savins, with Jake Fowler as Auction Runner.
Lots at the auction can sell from $30 to $500, and a well organised BBQ operates to provide refreshments for the day.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a cash only event. Cheque payment by prior approval only. Please bring your own boxes to take your new prized possesions home.
In 2010, Allen Morton wrote a delightful poem about the Auction and more specificially about Vic Essery and his Brown leghorns. You can download the poem here...
